Karachi: ANP activist shot dead
Karachi: An office-bearer of the Awami National Party was shot dead in Landhi police limits on Tuesday. Asghar Khan (38) son of Noor Khan was shot dead near Khwaja Chowrangi, Landhi–6, on Tuesday evening.
According to police, Asghar Khan was going for some work, when two armed men, riding a motorcycle, intercepted him and fired at him. He received a single bullet on his head that caused his instant death. After the incident, tension gripped the Landhi Town where armed men resorted to aerial firing. The party men also lodged protest at the hospital.
Asghar Khan was the Joint Secretary of ANP’s District East Ward and a resident of Sharif Colony in Landhi-36G. He was married and hailed from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province.
Police said that the deceased was carrying a bag containing unstitched cloths, two cellphones and Rs 2,800 and he seemed to be going to some tailor shop when the armed killers targeted him.
Police recovered two empties of 9mm pistol from the spot. Further investigation was underway.
