Karachi: Customs seizes heroin
Karachi: The Pakistan Customs seized one kilogram of heroin concealed in blankets from a postal parcel bound to the United Kingdom. Qamar Thalho of Customs said that while clearing the outgoing international parcel mails, they intercepted a parcel booked from Peshawar and bound to Watford in the UK.
Upon thorough examination, the parcel was found to contain a pair of homemade baby blankets stuffed with synthetic cotton which was used to conceal 22 contraceptive balloons containing 1kg of fine quality heroin.
A prosecution case under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, has been registered and investigation is in progress.
