Karachi: Excise police seize 900 litres of alcohol
KARACHI: A 10-member team of the Sindh Excise Police on Thursday conducted a raid at Murad Brohi village and seized 900 litres of alcohol.
The alcohol, which was to be used for manufacturing domestic liquor, was impounded in a raid near Gharo town on National Highway.
The accused Sikander, however, escaped from the scene. The team, led by Deputy Director Excise Akhter Azad and Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Sadequain received a tip off that a huge quantity of alcohol was kept in a mud-house for illegal trade.
The excise police seized 30 plastic cans, containing 30 litres alcohol each, to be used for manufacturing at least 3,600 litres liquor collectively.
A case has been registered and raids are being conducted for the arrest of accused.
