Islamabad: 8 auto thieves arrested
ISLAMABAD: Eight auto-thieves were arrested and seven cars recovered from them by the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC), a police spokesman said on Friday. SSP Tahir Alam Khan, in a bid to step up efforts against the car lifters, constituted a special team under the supervision of in charge ACLC DSP Abdul Razzaq which succeeded in arresting eight auto thieves including car receivers.
The car receivers, who had been arrested from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, were identified as Shaukat Ali, Moazam Ali, Ajeer Khan and Waseem Ahmed. Efforts are in progress to shift them from Charsadda and Peshawar to Islamabad.
Four arrested auto-thieves were identified as Tariq, Zahid Gul, Ameer Jan and Sabia Naz. SSP Tahir Alam Khan appreciated the performance of the Anti-Car Lifting Cell and announced cash reward for the team.
