Karachi: KRC member killed by extortionist mafia
Karachi: Two people, including a member of the Kachi Rabita Committee (KRC), were killed in separate incidents reported in the city on Monday. Bullet-riddled body bearing torture marks of Yaqoob Kachi, 50, was found from the Baghdadi police limits. Police said that Kachi’s body was found from the Khadda Market area.
During investigation it was found that Kachi was the resident of Khadda Market area and on Sunday night he was present at his son’s Pan Shop situated in the area when the Lyari gangsters came over and demanded extortion.
Kachi refused to pay the extortion amount upon which the gangsters picked him up from the area and brutally tortured him. They later shot him dead and threw his body in the area.
Later tension spread in the Khadda Market and Nayyabad area where the supporters and members from the KRC had launched a protest and demanded of the authorities to arrest the killers. Kachi was also a member of the KRC. A case was reported at the police station.
In a separate incident, Amna Bibi, 55, was shot dead while her maternal granddaughter Samina, four, got injured in the Mobina Town police limits. Police said that the incident took place late Sunday night inside a house situated in Bux Ali Goth, Mobina.
Police said that Amna had visited her son-in-law Shakoor’s house in Bux Ali Goth, Mobina. She was discussing some family matter when another relative of Shakoor named Saleem came over and started arguing with the family.
Saleem took out a pistol and started firing due to which Amna Bibi and Samina daughter of Shakoor got injured. The other family members had overpowered accused Saleem and shifted the injured to the hospital.
During treatment Amna Bibi succumbed to her injuries while Samina was in a critical condition as she had sustained a single bullet wound on her head. A case was reported at the police station and investigation is under way.
