Tank: IDP shot dead after killing wife, SHO
TANK: Police shot dead an angry internally displaced (IDP) person after he allegedly killed his wife and a station house officer (SHO) and injured seven others in Garra Baloch locality in the limits of the Cantonment Police Station on Monday, sources said.
The sources said that an IDP, Nisar Mahsud, hailing from South Waziristan, exchanged harsh words with his wife at home and allegedly shot her dead on the spot at 7:30 pm. The accused then came out of his home and allegedly opened fire on the children who were playing in the street, leaving four of them injured.
The local people informed the police about the incident and the police party led by SHO Mureed Akbar reached the spot and cordoned off the house to arrest the accused.
The sources said the SHO forced into the house and scuffled with the accused, but the latter fired at the SHO, leaving him critically injured. The accused also opened fire on the policemen outside the house. As a result, two policemen identified as Khalid Pervez and Saleem were injured.
In retaliation, the policemen opened fire on Nisar Mahsud, killing him on the spot. The injured were rushed to the Mission Hospital in Tank wherefrom two critically injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
The identity of the woman could not be ascertained but some of the children included Zahid, 2, Shahzeb, 5, and Zahidullah, 2.
