Karachi: 18 illegal hydrants demolished
Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) cut off some 23 illegal water connections and demolished 18 illegal hydrants on Wednesday. According to a press release, a special team, constituted on the directives of Managing Director KWSB Misbahudin Farid, removed these connections in Baldia, SITE, Orangi and Shah Faisal towns.
The six-inch diameter connection of Behram Hydrant, which was taken from a 33-inch dia bulk supply line in Khato Goth, Baldia Town, was also removed. Besides, five illegal connections (of two- to four-inch diameter) were cut off near the Habib Bank Bridge in SITE Town. These connections were taken from a 48-inch diameter bulk supply line.
Three illegal connections of four-inch diameter were cut off and three hydrants being run in the name of Salim were disconnected in Juma Goth with the help of the SHO of the Al-Flah police station.
