Karachi: 2 commit suicide
Karachi: Two people committed suicide on Thursday, police said. Gul Muhammad, 45, after an argument with his wife, locked himself in a room of his residence in Keamari in the Jackson police jurisdiction and took poison. His wife knocked at the door but when there was no response she called her neighbours who broke the door and saw him lying unconscious.
They immediately took him to the Civil Hospital where during treatment he died. Later his postmortem was carried out. Police said that the man was jobless. He left behind a wife and three children. He hailed from Dera Ismail Khan.
Meanwhile, Ruqayya, 22, wife of Muhammad Arif, after an argument with her husband, locked herself in a room of her Umer Colony residence in Baloch Colony in the Tipu Sultan police limits and hanged herself from a ceiling fan.
Her husband, after a few hours, tried to enter the room but it was locked. He then broke the door and saw his wife’s body hanging from a ceiling fan. He informed the police who shifted the body to the JPMC for legal formalities. Ruqayya was a mother of two children.
