Karachi: MQM activist among two gunned down
Karachi: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and an employee of the Education Department were gunned down in two incidents on Thursday. Sadaqat Hussain, 45, an activist of the MQM, was shot dead by two armed men riding a motorcycle near Orangi Town situated in Sector 11-1/2 in the Iqbal Market police jurisdiction.
The locals took him to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospial where he was pronounced dead. The news of Hussain’s death spread like wildfire and protesters came on roads and ordered shop owners to close their businesses.
They also reached the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and broke the windowpanes and beat some of the hospital staffers and doctors. They also demanded the arrest of the killers and claimed that one of the ethnic group activists were involved in the murder of Hussain.
Tariq Majeed Mirani, 30, died when two armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted his Toyota Corolla (ASH-524) near Defence Morr in Gizri.
