Peshawar: 3 suicide attacks foiled in 5 months: police
PESHAWAR: The police foiled three suicide attacks in Peshawar during 2011 by recovering five suicide jackets from the would-be bombers, said an official. The official said that eight officials of the bomb disposal unit were killed last year while in the first five months of 2011 two personnel lost their lives while defusing explosives.
He said during the current year two cars, carrying 400 kilograms of explosives each, were stopped before hitting targets in Hangu and Bannu districts. The official said that 63 IEDs, 25 remote-control bombs, 114 rockets and 105 hand-grenades were also defused.
