Lahore: Youth killed for ‘honour’
LAHORE: A youth was severely tortured and then shot dead for honour, allegedly by four people in the jurisdiction of Chung police on Friday early.
The deceased was identified as Murtaza Ali, 30, son of Jehangir Ali, a resident of Kibria Town. The police said that the four accused were also neighbours of the victim. They called out Murtaza from home on Thursday night. He left his house to meet his friends but never returned. The victim family informed the police about missing Murtaza.
On early Friday, a passer-by spotted the body of Murtaza in Kibria Town and informed the police. They reached the spot and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. A police official said that the youth was first subjected to severe torture and later shot dead. He suspected that the man had been killed over relations with a girl, a relative of the accused.
