Accountability court judge Ahmad Nawaz Ranjha also directed the Commerce secretary to confiscate salary of the said advisor until further orders and submit a report before the court on next hearing regarding his moveable and immoveable assets.
The adviser to the commerce ministry was allegedly involved in Rs 5.729 million bank fraud. The court had summoned him repeatedly to appear regarding the court proceedings but he did not bother to comply with the court orders.
On his noncompliance, the court had issued perpetual arrest warrants against him. On Tuesday, lawyers informed the court that Shahid Mehmood was working as an advisor to federal commerce minister Amin Fahim.
They implored the court to implement the previously issued arrest warrants against the accused.
