TT Singh: Action against butchers ordered
TOBA TEK SINGH: DCO Javed Iqbal Bokhari has taken notice of high prices of mutton and beef. Addressing a meeting in his office on Thursday, he directed all special price magistrates to ensure sale of mutton at Rs 300 and beef at Rs 180 per kg as fixed by district price control committee.
He asked them to conduct raids on meat shops to check overcharging. Assistant commissioners of Gojra, Kamalia and Toba also attended the meeting. It is to be mentioned that butchers openly demand from all customers Rs 350 per kg for mutton and Rs 200 per kg for beef while water mixed meat was also being sold by them.
