Gujranwala: Killing of a citizen; 6 ANF officials held, sent to jail
GUJRANWALA: Six officials of the Anti–Narcotics Force, accused of kidnapping and killing a man, were arrested and sent to jail after a local court denied them pre-arrest bail.
A team led by ANF Director Maj Saeed Kamran, Deputy Director Nazir Ahmed and SHO Akram Niaz raided the house of one Zulfiqar at Aslam Town in August 2008, kidnapped and took him to Lahore ANF Office. They insulted the family members when they tried to contact the officials. Later, the ANF officials tortured Zulfiqar to death and handed over the body to his family through the Khiali police and got forcibly buried him. A case was registered against the ANF officials on the court orders. On Saturday, the officials approached the court for the pre-arrest bail, but it was denied.
