Timergara: Man gets life term
TIMERGARA: A local court on Saturday convicted a man for killing his wife, a police constable, and awarded him life imprisonment with Rs500,000 as blood money to be paid to the victim’s family, court sources told Dawn.
Sources said Salim Khan had allegedly gunned down his wife, Khalida, a policewoman, in an honour related case on August 20, 2010. Father of the victim, Bahadar Khan, had registered case against his son-in-law who had escaped from the scene. However, the Balambat police later arrested him.
The additional sessions judge, Timergara, announced the verdict. The lady constable Khalida had left behind two daughters and a son. Advocate Anwar Akhunkhel represented her family in the case, sources added.
