Karachi: Woman, girl killed in different incidents
KARACHI: Two people were killed in different incidents in the city on Monday. A sub inspector allegedly shot his wife dead at his house in Bilal Colony, Korangi within the precincts of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The victim was identified as 35-year-old Sughra, wife of Yousuf Narejo, resident of Street No 12, Sector 8-A.
SP Usman Ghani Siddiqui said that the victim’s husband was deployed at the Awami Colony police station. The husband told that it was a suicide case as his wife shot herself to death with a pistol, the SP said.
On the other hand, victim’s mother Annie and brother Ashfaq claimed that Yousuf killed her. Sughra and Yousuf got married five years ago and developed a dispute two years later. The victim was the mother of two children and hailed from Khairpur, interior Sindh.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities where doctors said that she received one bullet. Siddiqui said that the reason behind the death could be ascertained once the post-mortem report was issued. A case was yet to be registered till the filing of this report.
A girl was crushed to death by a vehicle at Dawood Chowrangi, Landhi within the jurisdiction of Quaidabad police station.
A 20-year-old girl, Bilquees, daughter of Nazeer Ahmed, resident of Bhains Colony, was going home when a speeding vehicle crushed her to death on the spot. Police have arrested the responsible driver and started further probe into the incident.
