Lahore: Arrest warrants for Amin Fahim’s adviser
LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday issued for the second time non-bailable arrest warrants for bank fraud accused Shahid Mehmood, Adviser to Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim. The court has directed the authorities concerned to make sure the arrest of said accused and produce him before the court by June 21.
Previously, accountability court judge Ahmad Nawaz Ranjha had directed the Commerce Secretary to freeze the salary of the said advisor until further orders and submit a report before the court on next hearing regarding his moveable and immoveable assets. The court had also issued perpetual arrest warrants against Shahid Mehmood.
The Adviser to Commerce Ministry was allegedly involved in Rs 5.729 million bank fraud. The court had summoned him repeatedly to appear before the court proceedings but he did not bother to comply with the court’s orders. On his non-compliance, the court had issued the perpetual arrest warrants against him.
