Lahore: Man gets death for abducting, killing boy
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday awarded death sentence on three counts to Muhammad Abid on the charges of murdering a nine-year-old boy after abduction. Judge Tahir Pervaiz has also imposed a fine of Rs 200,000 on the convict. In case of default in payment of fine, the convict would further undergo one year jail term.
The authorities concerned have also been directed by the court to confiscate moveable and immoveable assets of the convict. As per case details, Abid in 2009 had abducted a nine-year old boy from Okara and had demanded Rs 100,000 ransom for his release. Later, he killed the boy as his family failed to pay the ransom.
Police had registered a criminal case against him on the complaint of Muhammad Aslam, father of the deceased. On Wednesday, the court, after hearing the final arguments of both the parties, awarded Abid death on three counts.
