Looting of an ambulance; Police unable to register case over limits’ row
NANKANA SAHIB: The police could not register the ambulance looting case due to dispute over the jurisdictions of the Nankana and Sheikhupura police even after six days.
The ambulance of Rescue 1122 was bringing an injured to Shahkot hospital when dacoits opened fire on it near Mascharwali on June 10. The dacoits snatched thousands of rupees and mobile phones from the ambulance staff. Nankana DPO Dr Haider Ashraf ordered to register the case and arrest the accused. Later, a row arose between Mananwala and Shahkot police over their limits. After the incident, the Rescue 1122 staffers show reluctance to provide their services in such areas. Social circles have expressed their concern over the delay in registering the case. They demanded immediate registration of the case and arrest of the accused.
