Batkhela: Cop held for selling stolen car
TAKHTBHAI: The District and Sessions Judge Batkhela sent a police officer to lockup for selling a stolen non-custom paid vehicle. The District and Sessions Judge Ikramullah Khan ordered the arrest of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Shergarh Police Station Noor Muhammad Khan for selling a stolen car to one Luqman.
Meanwhile, Inamullah registered a complaint with the Levies Post at Batkhela on April 20, 2011 that his car had been stolen. Taking action, the Malakand Levies recovered the car from Luqman on May 7, 2011. However, Luqman told the Levies Force that he had purchased the car from ASI Noor Muhammad.
A jirga to settle the dispute between all the parties was held at the office of the District Police Officer in Mardan, which decided that the ASI would repay the amount to Luqman on June 10, 2011.
However, DPO Mardan Zeeshan Haider suspended the cop. The ASI refused to comply with the jirga decision and filed bail before arrest.
The district and sessions judge cancelled the bail before arrest of the accused ASI and handed him over to the Malakand Levies.
