Attock: 4 constables suspended for manhandling
ATTOCK: Four constables of the City police were suspended for manhandling and teasing some transvestites at a marriage party, it has been learnt. The constables included Mohammad Zameer, Wasif Mehmood and Kamran. The action was taken by the district police officer (DPO) after a number of transvestites staged a protest rally at Fowarah Chowk against the highhandedness of the constables.
They alleged that the policemen not only stanched money from them but also manhandled them under the garb of security checking.
Meanwhile, the Hazro police released a relative of the van driver who was killed by some unknown people about a week back.
The relatives of the driver, Mohammad Arshad, gathered outside the district police headquarters on Saturday night against what they termed illegal detention of Mohammad Saleem instead of arresting the culprits involved in the robbery cum–killing case.
They demanded that the police high-ups should take notice of the mater. Later, however, the police released the man.
It may be recalled that driver Mohammad Arshad, of Pindwal village, was killed by three robbers, including a girl, after they snatched his vehicle (RIZ-3590) near Yaseen village on June 13.
