Karachi: Money dealer deprived of over Rs 60 million
KARACHI: The police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Crime Circle have started a probe into over Rs 60 million robbery incident that took place on the Northern Bypass within the limits of Mauripur police station, here on late Saturday night. According to details, two cops dressed in plain clothes and three in uniform intercepted a Quetta-bound intercity bus on the Northern Bypass and disembarked Shah Khalid, a dealer of money market.
Police quoted Khalid as saying that the police personnel caught him, said ‘you had abducted a girl’ and took him out of the bus. “The police personnel took him away in a mobile and dropped him at Gulbai Chowk after looting over Rs 60 million, including two lakh US dollars,” Khalid told police. Keamari Town Police Officer SP Tariq Mughal when contacted said that five armed men in a police van looted Khalid, however, the police had registered an FIR (221/11) under section 395 against five unknown police personnel.
