Lahore: Lawyer booked for bogus degree
LAHORE, June 19: A case was registered against a `lawyer’ for having bogus degree. He had been doing practice in the Lahore High Court for the last nine years.
According to Civil Lines police, Mian Nasir Mehmood, a resident of Begumpura, Baghbanpura, had registered himself with the Punjab Bar Council by producing a bogus LLB result card.
After the matter came to light, the PBC disciplinary committee sent his degree for verification to the Punjab University which said that Nasir had appeared for the LLB examination in 1995 with registration No. 83-cc-258 and roll No 905, but failed.
On the recommendation of the PBC, police have registered a case against Nasir Mehmood under sections 420, 468 and 471.
