90 smuggled cars seized in Lahore
LAHORE: The anti-smuggling squad of the anti-smuggling organisation Model Customs Collectorate Lahore has seized 90 smuggled cars and other valuables worth Rs 40.65 million during the last three months. According to Collector Customs Khawaja Umar Mehdi, the squad has achieved 90 percent target while the crackdown against smuggled items would be continued in future as well.
Besides other smuggled things taken into custody were foreign clothes, mobil oil, auto parts, air-conditioners, computer parts, tyres, TV, amplifiers, artificial rexins, BOP films, cabin hoods of heavy vehicles, steel sheet in coil, iron ropes, soaps, shampoos, shaving jells, locks and many other expensive items.
Umar Mehdi expressed satisfaction over the performance of the squad. It was further stated that smugglers were using the latest and unique methods to smuggle the goods and valuables. In the recent days, an attempt of smugglers to smuggle laptops and other expensive things through PIA Cargo was foiled.
