Islamabad: NH&MP recover 4 stolen cars
Islamabad: National Highways & Motorway Police Monday recovered four snatched and stolen cars lifted from different parts of the twin cities of Rawalpindi/Islamabad and arrested four car lifters.
As per details, NH&MP officers during their routine patrolling duty in the area of Lakori on Motorway observed Suzuki Mehran Car No.RLG-1981, Suzuki Mehran Car No.MU-518 and Suzuki Alto Car No.LY-692 which were over speeding and plying together. The NH&MP officers signaled them to stop but the drivers of the cars instead of stopping, tried to run away.
However, on chasing the Motorway Police officers, succeeded to stop the said cars through commando action and arrested three car lifters Rafiullah s/o Faqeer Muhammad, Imran Khan s/o Muhammad Shareef and Wahid Ullah from Peshawar.
During initial investigation they confessed that first they snatched white colour Suzuki Mehran Car No.RLG-1981, model 2007 from the Jurisdiction of Westridge police station, Rawalpindi on gunpoint.
Later they snatched blue colour Suzuki Mehran Car No.MU-518, model 2007 from the jurisdiction of civil line police station, Rawalpindi on gunpoint. They also snatched on gunpoint blue colour Suzuki Alto car No.LY-692 from the jurisdiction of Airport police station, Rawalpindi.
In the second incident, Islamabad Police informed the Motorway Police that a Silver colour Corolla car No. RA-144, model 2010 has been stolen from the area of Sabzi Mandi police station, Islamabad and requested for help to recover the said car. On receiving this information all the patrolling vehicles of NH&MP were alerted.
After a few minutes NH&MP officers observed a suspicious car of the same colour in the area of Sawbi on Motorway and its number plate was also broken. The NH&MP officers signaled to stop but the driver of the car tried to run away.
However, on chasing by Motorway Police officers, they succeeded to stop the said car through commando action and arrested one person Nasir Khan from Mardan. On searching the car, a visiting card in the name of Irashad was found.
On contact Irshad informed that his car was stolen from Islamabad and its FIR has been lodged in Police Station Sabzi Mandi Islamabad. The NH&MP officers took the cars in to their safe custody and informed the concerned local police.
Later the Motorway Police handed over the arrested Culprits along with the recovered vehicles in the presence of the owners of the vehicles to the concerned Local Police for further legal action.
The Inspector General, National Highways & Motorway Police Zafarullah Khan appreciated the performance of the officers who took part in these episodes and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for them.
