Karachi: MQM activist, watchman shot dead
Karachi: Two people, including a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Kashmir Committee, were killed in separate incidents on Monday. Twenty-two-year-old Usman alias Nomi was shot dead outside his house in Block-S of North Nazimabad. The incident took place in the Sharea Noor Jehan police limits.
The police said that the victim was outside his house when armed men approached him and an argument ensued. After an exchange of hot words, the assailants took out a pistol and shot him dead. After carrying out the attack, the killers fled the scene of the crime.
The victim had suffered a single gunshot to the neck. Investigators believed that he had become another victim of target killing. They added that the man was an activist of the MQM and also a member of its Kashmir Committee.
The investigators also revealed that Usman had come to Karachi a week ago from Azad Kashmir and was living with his family.
In a separate case, Hakeem Ali was shot dead in the Shah Latif police limits. Police said that the incident took place on Sunday night inside a farmhouse located in Sauleh Mohammad Goth.
They added that the farmhouse belonged to a trader named Naseeruddin and the deceased was a watchman as well as the supervisor of the property.
