Karachi: Muttahida activist shot dead
KARACHI: A young activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was gunned down outside his home in North Nazimabad on Monday, police said. The police added that 22-year-old Mohammad Usman alias Nomi was targeted by a man riding a motorbike. Witnesses were quoted as saying that a man riding a motorbike fired at Usman outside his home in block F.
The victim originally hailed from Azad Kashmir and was associated with an MQM’s arm. “The victim was a known activist of the MQM Kashmir committee,” said Inspector Arif Razzaq, SHO of the Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police station.
The body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police remained clueless about the attacker and his motive for the killing.
