Rawalpindi: 2 sisters shot dead on matrimonial dispute
Rawalpindi: Two real sisters were shot dead and the third one was injured when a person opened indiscriminate firing at them in a private girls’ hostel in Lalkurti area of the city on Monday. According to details, the three sisters, Saira, Saima and Sobia, were running a girls’ hostel to earn their livelihood. A man, identified as Asad, sought to marry one of the sisters Saira which she refused.
The refusal annoyed Asad and on Monday afternoon he entered the hostel and opened firing at the three sisters who were sitting together in the hostel. Saira and Saima died on the spot and Sobia received critical injuries. She was shifted to DHQ hospital where her condition was stated be serious.
The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime. Police have arrested the owner of the hostel, identified as Sohail, and started conducting raids to arrest Asad.
Talking to media, Station House Officer (SHO) Civil Lines Malik Sajid said that firing incident took place at the Noor Girls Hostel located in Lal Kurti.
Allegedly, one Asad, fired and fled from the scene. Safia and Saira died of the bullet wounds, while Sobia is in critical condition, the SHO said.
He said the incident was related to a marriage dispute. A case has been registered and the investigation started, he added.
