Several outlaws held in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: The local police on Monday claimed to have arrested several outlaws in various cases. District Police Officer Tahir Ayub Khan, flanked by SSP (Investigation) Mohammad Khalid Khan, told a press conference that the police had apprehended the killers of army soldier Tasawar Hussain Shah, whose body was recovered from a ditch last week. He said Mohammad Mahroof had allegedly killed Tasawar Hussain over his reported illicit relations with his sister-in-law. He said the son of the assailant Mohammad Shaukat was also involved in the killing.
The DPO said police had also arrested Khan Bahadar and Mohammad Haroon, who allegedly killed Shahzad Ahmad in the broad daylight. The official said that Balakot police arrested the gang involved in the robbery at the Dera Shawal in Balakot.
He said the gang had reportedly looted Rs150,000 cash, ornaments worth over Rs1 million and four mobile phones from the family of Zahoor Hussain, who had returned from Saudi Arabia.
The official said Mohammad Qasar and Mohammad Hussain were arrested and Rs57,000 worth of gold ornaments and three mobile phones were also recovered from their possession. He said raids were being carried out to arrest the other members of the gang.
