Lahore: CJ refuses to hear plea of NICL scam suspect
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) chief justice on Tuesday refused to hear for personal reasons a petition of former minister for defence, Maj Habibullah Warraich (retired), involved in NICL scam, seeking removal of his name from the exit control list (ECL).
Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry directed the registrar office to fix the petition before any other judge. Warraich had requested the court to direct the government to remove his name from the ECL as he wanted to go aboard along with his wife for medical treatment. Warraich had already been allowed bail in the NICL scam by the LHC.
