Lahore: Hardened criminals held
LAHORE: Civil Lines Police claimed to have arrested three criminals involved in more than 100 cases of heinous nature the other day. The criminals used to hunt isolated young couples, who visited Jinnah Garden in late evening. They were also involved in injuring a few couples after they offered resistance during robbery bids in Jinnah Garden. It has been further learnt from the people residing nearby areas of the Jinnah Garden that these criminals also used to gang rape those girls, who visited the garden along with their paramours or fiancés.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Abdul Aziz alias Pehlwan, son of Abdul Hafeez, a resident of Okara, Akbar, son of Ramazan Gujjar, a resident of New Samanabad, and Muhammad Sameer, son of Muhammad Younus, a resident of Jaanabad, Sialkot.
According to preliminary investigation, it has been learnt that Abdul Aziz alias Pehlwan had been involved in about 48 cases of dacoity, robbery, rape, gang rape, snatching and theft. He has also confessed his involvement in some 13 criminal acts, which he committed during the last several days. Mr Akbar, another notorious gangster, has been also involved in 29 cases of serious nature.
However, after he became a part of Pehlwan gang, he committed 13 felony acts. According to crime history of third accomplice, Sameer committed four criminal acts in past while was also involved in seven cases of robbery, dacoity, mobile and purse snatching, rape, gang rape and etc during the last few days.
“Yes, Investigation In-charge Civil Lines Ranjha, SI Akhtar and ASI Ghulam Rasool arrested this gang Sunday,” SP Investigation Civil Lines Liaqat Malik said. “During the recent days, they used to visit Jinnah Garden and followed isolated couples or individuals and held him/her on gunpoint and robbed them,” he added.
