Islamabad: Suspicious bag found
ISLAMABAD: A suspicious bag spotted in the bustling F-10 Markaz kept the capital police on their toes on Wednesday. The police were informed that a bag was thrown out of a yellow jeep in front of a restaurant in F-10 Markaz. The police rushed to the spot and got the area vacated after cordoning it off to avoid any untoward situation. The bomb disposal squad was also called there to examine the bag.
The police also requested the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to send its mobile forensic laboratory for the examination of the bag. However, FIA did not respond positively to the police call.
As the officials of the bomb disposal squad opened the bag, they found a small steel safe with some papers used for making US dollars along with ink and chemical. The police seized and shifted the recovered items to the Shalimar police station.
The police suspected that the bag had fallen from the jeep accidentally as it was not thrown out. They further said that some foreigners hailing from an African country were allegedly involved in printing fake currency notes.
Some foreigners were also arrested for their alleged involvement in printing fake US dollars and defrauding the people, the police said.
