Lahore: 3 die, including mother and her child, in city
LAHORE: A woman and her minor child were killed by their relative over a dispute within the jurisdiction of Iqbal Town police station on Thursday. Police said that there existed a relationship of Vata Sata between Lateef Omar and his cousin Qaiser Abbas from Mianwali. Qaiser’s sister was having marital problems with Lateef and fought with him after which she went back to her brother’s house in Mianwali.
Qaiser was angry with Lateef and family members told police that an argument intensified between him and Lateef. On early Thursday morning, Qaiser came to the house of Lateef at Paikhay Wala, a kachi abadi, with his unidentified accomplices.
Lateef resided jointly with his brother, Siddiq, and their families were asleep when Qaiser barged in. Qaiser fired indiscriminately, consequently killing Siddiq’s sleeping wife Faiza Bibi and her few months old daughter Abeeba on the spot.
The assailants fled from the spot. Police have sent dead bodies to a morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Qaiser on the complaint of Siddiq.
