Peshawar: Bid to blow up oil tanker foiled
PESHAWAR: The police foiled an attempt here on Thursday to destroy an oil tanker carrying fuel for the Nato forces in Afghanistan.
Sources said an oil tanker carrying fuel for Afghanistan-based Nato forces was parked near Ring Road Bridge after it developed some technical fault in the limits of Bhanamari Police Station.
The sources said the truck driver spotted a bomb attached with the tanker while looking for technical fault and he immediately informed the police. They said the bomb disposal unit defused the locally made one-kilogram explosive device.
A nine-volt battery, remote control receiver and one electric detonator fuse were attached with the bomb.
