Woman, daughter shot dead in Bhaikhaywal village
LAHORE: Two persons shot dead a 30-year-old woman and her five- month-old daughter in Bhaikhaywal village in the Iqbal Town police area on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Faiza Siddique and her daughter Abeeha, residents of Bhaikhaywal village. Muhammad Siddique, an employee of Punjab University who hailed from Mianwali, was living in the village in a rented house along with his brother Latif. Both were married.
On Thursday, Siddique was home along with his family when a brother-in-law of Latif, Qaisar Abbas, and his accomplice barged into the house. Both were equipped with sophisticated weapons. They allegedly opened fire and injured Faiza and her minor daughter and fled. Siddique with the help of locals rushed the victims to hospital where doctors pronounced both victims dead. Police have removed the bodies to morgue and registered a case against both accused.
Iqbal Town Police Station SHO Qammar Abbas said Faiza had a scuffle with Shamim, wife of Latif, a couple of days back. He said later Shamim went to her parents’ home and told her brothers about the scuffle. He said Shamim’s brother carried out the heinous act. He added that police were conducting raids to arrest the accused persons.
