Chakwal: Woman found strangled
CHAKWAL: A married woman who went missing from her house on Thursday noon was found strangled at the house of her negibour on Friday morning, relatives and police told Dawn. Fateh Bibi, 32, was living in Askari locality of Chakwal city with his husband and three daughters.
Mohammad Ishaq the husband of Fateh Bibi told Dawn that her wife worked as a domestic worker at the house of Ghulam Murtaza. “We assumed that she might have gone for work and would return in the evening but when she did not return we launched a hunt for her,” Ishaq said.
He said that a girl of the locality informed them that she saw Fateh Bibi going to the house of Ghulam Abbas carrying a basket to fetch water. He said that when they asked Ghulam Abbas, a motorbike mechanic in his early sixties, to open the door of one of his locked room he refused and went inside the house and did not return.
He said they waited for Ghulam Abbas till 10 pm and then informed the police, he said. “When we broke the lock of the room, we saw Fatheh Bibi lying dead on a cart. A rope was tied around her neck with blood oozing out from her ears and mouth”, Investigation Officer Altaf told Dawn.
