Islamabad: Security tightened after bomb threat
ISLAMABAD: Security in and around the Police Line Headquarters was further tightened after receiving a threatening call that the police lines would be blown, police said on Friday. Shortly after receiving the call at Rescue-15 the other day, the capital police were on their toes to counter the threat and the security was tightened at the police lines which houses thousands of policemen and officers.
The headquarters’ different blocks, residential areas and offices were got vacated and search was conducted to spot something suspicious or some suspected person.
The search continued for a couple of hours as the bomb disposal squad was called out and sniffer dogs were used. During the search, the headquarters was surrounded by the policemen including the anti-terrorist squad. After the search, the headquarters was declared safe and clear.
