Karachi: People lose life in separate incidents of violaence
KARACHI: People lost life in separate incidents of violence and mishaps in different parts of the city here on Friday. A teenage boy was shot dead near University Road within the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained till filing this report. Police found his body from a service road in Block 5, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and shifted it to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for postmortem. Later, the body was moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Similarly, police found body of a man from bushes within the limits of Surjani police station. The identity of the victim could also not be ascertained. Police found his body near KDA Flats, Phase II, Sector 5-E, Surjani Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy, where doctors said the victim had several torture marks on his body and he died due to suffocation. Police have registered an FIR (348/11) against unidentified men on the complaint of state and initiated a probe into the case. The body was later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Separately, a young man was shot dead near his house in Gosht Market, Quaidabad. Sajid, 23, was talking to some one on his cell phone when two bandits tried to snatch his cell phone but he offered them resistance. One of the bandits, opened fire on him, resultantly he received bullet injuries. The bandits, however, fled from scene. Police shifted the injured to the JPMC where he succumbed to his injuries.
In other incident, a man was shot dead near his house in Khushhal Chowk, Machhar Colony, within the remits of Docks police station. Imran Shah, 30, resident of Machhar Colony, was found dead by police near his house. Police officials said the victim had a crime record, as eight cases had been registered against him at different police stations. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to his heirs.
Meanwhile, police found body of a man from Kala Pul, within the remits of Defence police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained. Police officials said the victim had torture marks. The body was brought to the JPMC and later moved to Edhi Morgue for identification.
Separately, Haji Abdul Ghaffar, who injured on Thursday in firing by armed men near Fawara Chowk, succumbed to his injuries at the CHK on Friday. DSP Sahib Shah said that he was the contractor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Trauma Centre.
