Chakwal: Man gunned down
CHAKWAL: A man was gunned down on Saturday after he told the highwaymen to earn livelihood through fair means, police said. Qari Mohammad Banaras, a resident of Joya Mire village, was going home along with his son, Mohammad Idrees, on motorbike. When the father and the son were passing by Joya Mire Oilfield, three highwaymen stopped them.
The armed bandits snatched Rs5,000 from them. When the robbers were leaving, Banaras asked them to earn their livelihood by fair and just means.
At this the enraged highwaymen opened fire on Banaras, killing him on the spot. They would have killed the son also but, according to a villager, the gun developed a “technical fault”. Saddar police have registered a case against the culprits.
