Karachi: Injured SI kills bandit, 4 others wounded in robbery bid
KARACHI: A bandit was killed whereas five others injured, including an officer of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), during a robbery bid near Stadium Road within the remits of Aziz Bhatti police station.
FIA Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ali Wasan, his father Ali Nawaz and brother-in-law Tariq were aboard their car near Stadium Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, when three bandits tried to snatch their mobile phones and valuables. Upon resistance, one of the bandits opened fire on the passengers injuring all of them along with two passer-bys namely Mir Ahmed and Alizar, son of Harrison.
In the aftermath, Wasan pulled out his pistol and opened fire on the bandits. Resultantly, one bandit was shot twice while his accomplice fled from the scene.
SHO Chaudhry Irshad said that the injured bandit died after few moments. He was later identified as Faisal, son of Zubair, a resident of Defence View. Police have recovered a bullet magazine from his possession. Police shifted the bandit’s body and injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and treatment.
Officer said Wasan has been admitted in a private hospital and his condition is out of danger. Case was to be registered till filing of this report.
