Karachi: 2 men found shot dead
KARACHI: A scrap dealer, who went missing on Monday, was found shot dead in a Lyari area in the small hours of Tuesday, police said. They said e 42-year-old Nazeer Ahmed left his home in Lyari`s Nawa Lane area on Monday night to buy some food for the family but did not return.
“The body was found near Jamila Street in Ghaas Mandi,” said an official at the Kalakot police station. “The victim was hit by a single bullet in the head from a very close range while he was severely tortured. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.”
Investigators believed that the victim was kidnapped after he left home as his cellphone was found switched off. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained, but the police registered a case (FIR 84/2011) under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code against unknown persons on a complaint of the victim`s cousin, Kamran Baloch.
A few hours later, another body was found in the proximity of the same locality. The police said that the body of a young man, stuffed in a gunny bag, was found near Kapra Market in Ranchhore Line.
“The victim was hit by three bullets,” said an official at the Eidgah police station. “He appears to be in his late-20s and was wearing a blue trouser and white shirt. The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for a want of identification after completing medico-legal formalities at the Civil Hospital.”
