Lahore: 103 prisoners released
LAHORE: District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem Ahmed on Thursday visited the Camp Jail and ordered release of 103 prisoners with pity crimes. The judge also listened to the grievances and complaints of prisoners, and ordered the jail superintendent to address their genuine problems on priority basis.
A prisoner, Murad Ali, told the judge that he had been languishing in jail for the last one and half years after completion of his imprisonment owing to unavailability of ‘Dayyat’ money. The judge directed the superintendent to contact philanthropists for payment of ‘Dayyat’ for his release. The superintendent briefed the judge on the arrangements being made for the prisoners.
