Lahore: ATC denies bail to murder accused
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday rejected bail application of Munawar Bhindar, uncle of murdered Advocate General Arif Bhindar, in a case of killing PML–N Coordinator Memoona Jabeen and two others.
According to the case, PML-N Coordinator Memoona Jabeen, her security guard and a passer-by were killed and three passers-by injured in the area of Badami Bagh, Lahore, when armed men opened firing a couple of days back.
According to police, the incident took place as a result of an old enmity between Bhindar Group and Zahid Group in the Badami Bagh police area.
Police had registered a case against around 15 persons belonging to Bhindar Group, including the arrested uncle and father of the murdered Arif Bhindar. Munawar Bhindar on Thursday filed a bail application but the court rejected it.
Zahid and Arif both already had been murdered as a result of an old enmity. Memoona, who was killed allegedly by Bhindar Group, was sister of Zahid.
