Peshawar: 2 women granted bail in drug case
PESHAWAR, July 1: The Peshawar High Court on Friday allowed bail to two women including a 70-year-old widow in a case of drug pushing.
A single bench comprising Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan directed the two petitioners, Ms Sakina and Ms Maryam, to furnish two sureties of Rs300,000 each.
The petitioners were arrested by the officials of Sarband police station here on May 20, 2011. The police alleged that each of the women were carrying 5kg charas. They were charged under section 9 of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 1997. Advocate Noor Alam Khan appeared for the petitioners and contended that the petitioners were falsely implicated in the case.
