Karachi: 5 men gunned down in different areas
KARACHI: Two persons were shot dead by unknown assailants in different parts of Lyari in the early hours of Sunday, police said. A duty officer at the Napier police station said that the body of an unidentified man stuffed in a gunny bag was found in the Syed Mohammad Shah Road area. There were marks of torture on the body, he said, adding that the victim might have been kidnapped and killed somewhere else before his body was dumped at the place where it was found.
Police said that the victim appeared to be around 25 to 26 years old. He was subjected to torture and there were multiple bullet wounds on his body, they said.
The body was first shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later to the Edhi morgue for identification.
The police suspected that the victim was associated with one of the Lyari gangs. An FIR (102/2011) was registered against unknown killers on behalf of the state at the Napier police station.
In a separate incident, a man was shot dead late on Saturday night in the Khadda Market area within the remit of the Baghdadi police station.
Police said that 47-year-old Abdul Aziz, son of Mohammad Yousuf, was standing outside a mosque when unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle shot him. The victim was rushed to the civil hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds, they added.
An FIR (176/2011) was registered against unknown killers at the Baghdadi police station on a complaint of the victim`s family.
