Karachi: Suspect’s remand extended in dance party shootout case
Karachi: The Judicial Magistrate South extended the police remand of Zahid Butt till Monday in the murder case of a grandson of the late Nawab Akbar Bugti and five others during an armed clash at a dance party in a DHA bungalow last Saturday night.
Akber Bugti’ grandson Talei Bugti and five others were killed and six people were injured when clash broke out among the participants of the dance party.
According to the prosecution, the shootout began after a heated argument between Talei Bugti and the organizers on the security guard issue. Four people Mark Joseph, Kamran Shafi, Dr Iqbal and Kamran Gul died on the spot while Bugti was pronounced dead at a private hospital, while another injured Ziauddin died on Sunday.
Gizri police registered an FIR under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324(attempt to murder), 147(punishment for rioting) and 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons) of the Pakistan Penal Code on behalf of the state against the party organizer Arif Roger and others.
