Peshawar: Court staffers face action for corruption
PESHAWAR: In order to weed out corruption from the subordinate judiciary, District and Sessions Judge Ziauddin Khattak on Saturday issued show cause notices to eight staffers working in different courts here. According to a press release, the anti-corruption drive has been started in the light of the directives by Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, who is also the chairman of the Para-legal Staff Anti-Corruption Committee.
It said that six officials were issued notices of pre-mature retirement. They include a stenographer, two readers and three bailiffs. Similarly, notices were also issued to a reader and moharrar (clerk), asking them to show cause why they should not be removed from service.
