Islamabad: 279 gangs busted
ISLAMABAD: The capital police have busted 279 gangs involved in heinous crimes and arrested 945 criminals this year. A police spokesman on Monday said that a report, presented to Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan, had revealed that 10 gangs involved in blind murder cases were traced which led to the arrest of their 23 members. Three gangs involved in kidnap for ransom were also busted and nine kidnappers were apprehended.
The report said Islamabad police had traced 26 gangs involved in immoral activities and arrested 193 persons. Five persons involved in rape were also arrested.
Similarly, 15 gangs involved in robberies, 35 in snatching valuables at gun point, 25 in burglaries, 88 in theft, 19 in car theft, seven gangs of selling vehicles after tempering them were also busted during the year.
