Lahore: One killed, two injured over old enmity
LAHORE: Four armed motorcyclists shot dead a man and injured two others over an old enmity in the Gujjarpura police area on Monday. The deceased was identified as Waqas, a resident of Gujjarpura. The police said that the deceased was working with Ali Imran alias Bahadra, a resident of the same area.
The police said that Ali Imran had an old enmity with Shah Group and about eleven cases have been registered against the two groups due to the old enmity. Police said that Ali Imran hired Waqas and Ziafat as guards and on the day of the incident, they three were going somewhere on their jeep when four motorcycles from Shah group intercepted them near Makhi Nali. The motorcyclist within no time brought out their guns and opened fire on Ali Imran, Waqas and Ziafat. Resultantly, they three sustained serious wounds while the shooters managed to escape from the scene.
Some locals informed rescue officials, who after reaching the scene, rushed the injured men to the Mayo Hospital where Waqas succumbed to his injuries while the doctors stated other two as critical.
Police after reaching the scene, removed the body of Waqas to morgue for autopsy and registered a case. However, no arrest has been made by the police till the filing of this report.
Sources said that the same group had murdered the mother of injured Ali Imran some six years ago and police have constituted two teams to nab the accused.
