Lahore: Plea to cancel bail to terror accused
LAHORE: The Punjab government on Monday moved a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking cancellation of bail earlier granted by a trial court to two accused involved in the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009. The accused, Mohsin Rashid and Ishfaq, were arrested and jailed.
A few days back, an anti-terrorism court had released them on bail and the Punjab government has challenged that order. The petitioner-government says both accused were involved in the attack on Sri Lankan team and there were solid evidence against them but the trial court misread the evidence. The government prayed to the court to cancel their bail.
